Psychological Evaluations and Support Services

Family/Individual Services

Private Psychological Evaluations

Do I have Autism? Does my child have ADHD? Why is my child having such a difficult time learning to read? These are the questions best addressed through a comprehensive private evaluation. We tailor your assessment to address your concerns and work diligently to get the answers in your hands quickly to help you make decisions for further treatment.

Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)

When districts and parents disagree over an assessment, we can provide a neutral, third-party perspective to help the IEP team determine eligibility, whether the child needs related services, and/or if the current educational placement is the most appropriate placement to meet the child's needs. If you are working with an special education advocate, such as HEARTS Connection, tell your advocate you'd like to request an IEE completed by Guiding Light Educational Psychology.

Counseling Services

Skill-based counseling in our private office in West Bakersfield. As a child therapist, our LEP understands how to work with kids in a way that they will both enjoy and learn/improve.

Educational Consultation

This one-hour consultation focuses on reviewing IEP or 504 Plan documents and evaluations, and providing families with valuable information and guidance (including insights on educational needs, potential services to request, therapies/strategies to try). Having a trained set of eyes can help parents better understand how to advocate for their child's needs.

Note: This service does not include attendance to IEP/504 meetings

District Services

Staff Training

Customizable training content is designed to provide professional development for your school psychologists, special education teachers, and other staff. Possible topics include: Legally Defensible Report Writing, MTSS Leadership, Best Practices in Standardized Assessment practices, Data Collection and Analysis, FBA/BIPs, Social/Emotional Assessments and Services (ERMHS), and SCIA Assessment.

Procedural Development/Work Group Leadership

We can partner with your group or a work group from your district to develop procedural documents that will help streamline your special education-related processes.

Independent Educational Evaluations

We can provide Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for your district at competitive rates. Areas of assessment are determined during consultation, and our aim is to be comprehensive, fair, and timely.

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
